Updating The Floodwatch

“…the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood…” (Dan. 9:26).

Daniel the prophet’s forecast was the watershed at which God obviously wanted to point as the beginning of the wrap-up to the age. This was confirmed by the Lord Jesus.

“And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” (Matt.24:2).

Jesus then, in the discourse that followed, answered the disciples' : “Wat shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?”

Jesus set about detailing the signals of the same end-time storm that would produce the flood Daniel forecast. It seems to me that the flood, which we have talked about before in these commentaries, is beginning to gush upon a world of people who haven’t the foggiest idea that the deluge is in the process of swallowing them.

Daniel, using the words given him by God’s messenger, predicted the flood will rage through subsequent history, manifested by a growing war that will engulf the entire planet and spread until the very end. Although I can’t prove it with Scripture, or by specific, tangible documentation, my prayerfully studied thoughts impress upon my spirit that the global war began in earnest on September 11, 2001.

The war with the terrorists of the world is like a flood. Its spreading horror cannot be contained because there is no defensive retainer wall of enough length to act as a barrier against the murderous actions perpetrated by satanic minds that send their own women and children to blow themselves up in the name of their god. According to Daniel –and Jesus Christ—the flood is destined to grow exponentially worse, until the Lord puts an end to the insane rage at the last gathering at Armageddon.

One particular element of the flood flowing through this generation that is less violent, but more insidious, is a religious emulsion. It is mixed and spewed upon the world by those who preach unity at all costs. To my way of thinking, the death of John Paul II seems to have been the floodgate’s opening that unleashed a gush of worldwide embracement of the new religious fervor, that declares, “Let’s just all come together in the unifying hug of love, which is the greater good than any doctrinal imperatives. There are, after all, many ways to God…”.

Tragically, this seems to be the attitude of even some of the most formerly unmovable stalwarts of the faith within evangelical Christianity. I could give appropriate quotes to document my charge, but my intent is not to name names. It’s not hard to do the research to find those complicit in this travesty. Some of these have been my greatest heroes of the faith in these contemporary times, so, it hurts too much to name them.

Even the most biblically sound of America’s churches find this end-time flood of religious watering down invading their sanctuaries. The church growth movement has swept away the guardian-pillars of the faith –the doctrinal foundation of the Church penned by the great mind of the Almighty within the pages of the Word of the Living God. The seeker-friendly, seeker-sensitive have sought, and brought into their midsts, a combination of light mixed with darkness, determined to somehow synthesize the two together with a message that offends none and entertains all.

Like the flood waters of a major river gone over its banks, the results are an intermingling of contaminated water with the truth of the Living Water, and, the mixture is corrupting and devastating to Christ’s commission to individuals within His Church: …teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…” (Matt. 28:20).

One of my friends, who is a pastor and a broadcaster on a nationally networked radio program, framed the growing apostasy well: “The Lord Jesus [asked]: ‘When the son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?’ Well, that’s a very important question. The book of Revelation indicates that a one-world religion will arise, and it will be opposed to everything that is good and true, and taught in the Word of God. Are we seeing a move in this direction today? Well, I believe not only a move, but a mad rush.

"Rapid growth of the ecumenical mind-set, the preaching of a New Age gospel, the downplaying of Bible doctrine, the denial of the importance of Bible prophecy, and many other related trends suggest that we are on the doorstep of a massive dispensational change” (Dr. Larry Spargimino, Southwest Radio Church Ministries broadcast, Tuesday, May 31, 2005).

There is indeed a mega-shift taking place, moving all in its path toward a new paradigm. That new paradigm will be the tribulation super-religious system of Revelation, chapter 17. The flood that is swiftly rushing the world toward the harlot church –Antichrist’s mistress—means that the true church, comprised of all born-again believers who have died and who live during this age of grace, is quite possibly at the very brink of being called into the clouds of glory.
